Obituary

Poland - On Thursday, January 8, 2015, Josephine Gentile, 91, passed away peacefully. She was born January 15, 1923, in Canton, Ohio, the daughter of Frank and Maria (Rinaldi) Colasurdo. Josephine attended Allen School and Canton McKinley High School, and was employed by Livingston's Department Store. Josephine was a lifelong member of the Christian Assembly Church, where she was a member of the Dorcas Women's Fellowship. Her life was inspired by her strong Christian faith, which was reflected in her love for and devotion to her family. Her deepest contentment was expressed through her love of cooking and baking. Family and friends will most remember her delicious meals and desserts. She worked tirelessly and effortlessly for the benefit of others, volunteering her time for church events and charities, and organizations such as The Society for the Blind. She was a devoted friend to many. Her close relationships encompassed young and old, and extended across many activities and social circles. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Leonard, to whom she was married for 62 years. Comforted by her memory, she leaves behind her children Phillip Gentile, of Ocean Springs, MS; Maria Gentile Bucci, of Pittsburgh, PA; and her grandchildren, Anthony and Gabrielle Bucci. She also leaves a brother, John David Colasurdo, of San Franciso, CA. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Minocchi and Antoinette Caringi, a brother, Daniel Colasurdo, and her son-in-law Jerry Bucci Friends and family may call on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market Street, Boardman, where a memorial service will follow at 7 p.m., with Pastor Jerry Hunt officiating.
