Struthers - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Monday, January 16, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Youngstown, with the Very Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio officiating, preceded by a 9:15 a.m. prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, for Joyce M. Burnett, 65, of Struthers, who passed away on Thursday evening, January 12, 2012 with her loving family by her side. Joyce will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends. She was born January 17, 1946 in Wooster, Massachusetts, the daughter of Edward & Mary (Lafreniere) Hilland, and moved to the Youngstown area as a young child. Joyce was employed as a beautician for Strouss Department Store and then with Regis Hair Styles and retired in 2001 along with being a homemaker. She was a 1964 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School, attended Youngstown State University for 2 years and then graduated from the Victor George Beauty School. Joyce enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and grandson especially on their vacations in Cape Cod at the beach. She leaves behind to hold on to her memories her husband of over 44 years Richard A. Burnett whom she married April 1, 1967, a daughter Jennifer (Kevin) Kurcon of Poland, a grandson Aaron Bacon, a sister Rosemary Hilland and husband Mike Sandusky of Struthers, her beloved dog Bella, along with several nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Judy Gillen and a niece Kelly Sandrock. Friends may call on Sunday, January 15, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman.
