Poland - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Friday, August 16, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Youngstown, with the Very Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio Jr. officiating, preceded by a 9:15 a.m. prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, for Juanita "Pat" Vertucci, 84, of Poland, who was carried off by angels to her Heavenly home early Saturday morning, August 10, 2013 with her daughter's by her side. Juanita will always be remembered and loved for the devotion she had for her family, her great personality and always having a smile that could light up a room. She was born February 10, 1929 in Youngstown the daughter of Howard and Matilda (Miller) Herman and was a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of Chaney High School and then continued her education with graduating from Paramount Beauty School where she also met her future husband. After Juanita graduated she then became an instructor at Youngstown Beauty Academy and then with Boardman Beauty Academy. Juanita was a manager and traveling supervisor for First Lady Beauty Salons where she opened the first store in the area in the Southern Park Mall and then was a manager for her daughter at A Visible Change Salon and Salon Vertucci along with being a proud homemaker. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and the Red Hat Society. Juanita enjoyed bowling in various leagues, shopping, traveling, horse races, but she loved to cook and bake for her family and they will miss her wonderful wedding soup and delicious pies. Her husband Gerald "Jerry" Vertucci whom she married August 27, 1949 died April 1, 2007. She leaves behind to hold on to her precious memories three children Gerald "Jerry" (Sandy) Vertucci of Houston, Texas, Palma Vertucci of Poland and Roseann Vertucci of Boardman, two granddaughters Somer (Alberto) Garza and Megan (Chance) Dailey, three great grandchildren Ruby, Anelise and Giana, two sisters June Sharish and Mae Zufall, a dear friend Mary Rios and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Juanita was preceded in death by a sister Marie Deeds, seven brothers Pete, Robert, Howard, Christian, Bill, Donald and Joe Herman along with her beloved pet dogs Jake and Xena. Friends may call on Thursday, August 15, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman. Entombment will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens, Canfield.
