Obituary

WARREN – With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Judith Ann Canacci (Piccuta). A loving wife, mother and friend who left us on June 10, 2026 at the age of 81.

Judith was born June 15, 1944, in Youngstown, a daughter of Giuseppe and Josephine (Galante) Muscatello, and remained a lifelong resident of the area.

She graduated from East High School in 1962, proudly carrying the title of “Golden Bear,” and was a devoted member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church in Cortland.

Judith retired from Mahoning County Job and Family Services, where she worked for 32 years.

Judith was the heart and soul of her family. She was a dedicated wife who shared a lifetime of love and partnership with her husband, and a mother whose strength, guidance and unconditional love shaped the lives of her children. Her home was always a place of comfort, warmth and welcome.

She found great joy in the simple things that brought people together. Judith was an avid bowler spending time with friends, where her lively spirit and friendly nature made her a joy to be around. She was also known for making the best pumpkin pie and stuffing. A families favorite that will be remembered every holiday and gathering.

From time-to-time Judith enjoyed the thrill of playing slot machines.and.trips “Down the River” with her siblings. Embracing those moments with her fun and loving personality and sense of adventure. She also loved traveling with her husband to Cocoa Beach, St. Augustine, and Naples, Florida for the winter months.

Judith leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband of more than 24 years, William “Bill” Canacci, whom she married on August 15, 2001; her children, Paula (Daryl) Niessner and William (Donna) Piccuta; her stepchildren, Victor (Gabriella) Canacci, William Jr. (David) Canacci, and Christine (Todd) Huston; her four adored grandchildren, Gianna, Nicholas, Grace, and Isabella; her sister, June (Jack) Palermo; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Muscatello; her sisters, Phyllis DeLucia, Rose Ciolli, and Brenda Gaglione; her brother-in-law, Ronald Canacci; and her sister-in-law, Karen Rotondo.

Above all Judith will be remembered for her kindness, her dedication to her family and the love she gave to them so freely. She had a way of making everyone feel special and cared for and she would let you know in her own special way if you were number 1. She was proud of her Italian heritage, and the many meaningful relationships she cultivated throughout her life. Her warmth, generosity, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday, June 15, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 12:50 p.m. at Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with the Very Rev. Msgr. John Zuraw, J.C.L., V.G., serving as celebrant.

Entombment will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Canfield.

The family requests that material contributions be made in Judith’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association Greater East Ohio Area, 408 9th St. SW, Canton, OH 44707.
