Obituary

New Middletown - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, Youngstown, with the Very Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio Jr. as celebrant, preceded by a 9:10 a.m. prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman for Judy Ann (Scholl) Mohn, 53, of New Middletown, who passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 14, 2015. Judy will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends for so many beautiful qualities especially for her giving personality and big smile. Anyone who knew her will forever be touched by Her love. She was born July 29, 1961 in Youngstown, the daughter of Edward Scholl and Julia Kisak. Judy was a 1980 graduate of Mohawk High School where she was a majorette and drum major. She excelled as a waitress because of her sparkling personality and Judy worked at Perkins, Brown Derby and Smaldino's Restaurants. She also was employed at Hummel Gift Shop, Berman Electric and A 1 Concrete Company, but her most important job was being a homemaker with her family. Judy had many passions and enjoyments throughout her life. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her Husband, children, nieces and nephews. She loved her family dearly and was the first to help anyone in need. She and Dan hosted all the family parties. Judy received so much joy from the "fun" time's with her children decorating and doing arts and crafts. She also enjoyed skiing with her father when she was younger and all the wonderful memories they had together. While growing up Judy was a member of Petersburg Presbyterian Church and then became an active member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica. At the Basilica Judy taught CCD and loved to volunteer helping with Italian Culture week and Vacation Bible School . Her service to the church reflected her deep abiding faith in Jesus Her Savior and His Blessed Mother. Judy touched many priests and religious lives most especially, Very Rev, Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio Jr., Very Rev. Msgr. Anthony Spinosa, Father Vit Fiala, Father Gary George, Father Joseph Rudjak and the Oblate Sisters of the Sacred Heart along with many others. Judy will be sadly missed by the love of her life and beloved husband Dan Mohn whom she was united in marriage to in a catholic mass on May 22, 2004. Judy leaves to cherish Her memory Her beloved children, son Joseph and daughter Maria, her father Edward, Mother Julia Kisak, a brother Edward A (Lynne Oncea) Scholl Jr. a sister Terri (Craig) Belcik, father and mother-in-law Charles (Susan) Mohn, and sisters-in-law Dena (Arthur) Miller and Denise (Julie Anne) Mohn. She also leaves her beloved nieces and nephews that meant the world to her Kyle and carter Miller, Gabriella Scholl and Zoe Belcik along with many aunts, uncles cousins and friends. Friends may call on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home 4700 Market St., Boardman. Burial will take place at Petersburg Cemetery. .
