Boardman – There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Friday, December 23, 2016 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish – Holy Name of Jesus Church, 613 N. Lakeview, Youngstown, with Father John Jerek officiating, preceded by a 9:00 am prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, for KarenMarie (Yohman) Burnett, 57, died Monday morning, December 19, 2016, at her home.

Karen will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends for so many beautiful qualities. She always had a positive attitude, was happy and energetic, and called everyone by their first and last name.

She was born April 6, 1959 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Robert Joseph and RoseMarie (Nardella) Yohman and has been a lifelong resident.

She was of the Catholic faith and a member of the Holy Name of Jesus Church.  Karen graduated from Ursuline High School in 1977 and then from the Sharon School of Nursing. She was able to further her education and received her BSN of nursing.

Karen worked as a nurse at Cafaro Hospital for 17 years. Karen was a labor and delivery nurse at Northside Medical Hospital for 17 years.

She enjoyed singing, shopping and traveling with family in her free time. But most of all Karen enjoyed spending time with her loved ones.

Karen is survived by her loving husband, John J. Burnett and her closest friend of 26 years Dr. Joni S. Canby.

Karen also leaves her mother RoseMarie Nardella Yohman of Youngstown, 3 step-sons: Anthony Burnett of Youngstown, and his children; Ava and Hudson, Michael Burnett of Youngstown, and his children; Carter and Natalie, and Nicholas Burnett of Youngstown, and his son; Hunter.

She was preceded in death by her father, her maternal grandparents; Michael and Mary Jane Dukovich Nardella, her paternal grandparents; Joseph and Elizabeth Yohman and her brother Robert Joseph.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market ST., Boardman.

Interment will be at Lake Park Cemetery.
