Youngstown - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, 343 Via Mt. Carmel, Youngstown, with the Very Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio Jr. as celebrant, preceded by a 9:10 a.m. prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, for Katherine Mary Pallotta, who passed away on Saturday evening, with her loving sons and family members by her side. Katherine will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends for her smile and wonderful personality. She was born December 16, 1935 in Youngstown, the daughter of Thomas and Helen (Gavlak) Rohan and was a lifelong area resident. Katherine was a graduate of East High School and a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, where she would faithfully attend the St. Anthony Novena. She was a proud homemaker and centered her life around her family. Katherine always put all her heart in raising her children and caring for her husband. Everyone will deeply miss all her outstanding cooking and baking of Italian dished and pastries. Katherine enjoyed spending time with her many friends and family, but she especially loved being with her granddaughters. Her husband Sam Pallotta whom she married January 12, 1957 died December 8, 2002. Katherine leaves behind to hold on to her precious memories five sons Thomas Pallotta of Boardman, Ralph (Rebecca) Pallotta of North Jackson, Samuel (Karen) Pallotta of Fairfield Township, Richard Pallotta of Boardman and Michael Pallotta of Lake Milton, four granddaughters Samantha, Madelyn, Sophia and Rose, and two brothers George (Alice) Rohan Sr. and Thomas "Noonie" (Freida) Rohan. Besides her parents and husband, Katherine was preceded in death by three sisters Sophie Rohan, Pauline Merkich and Ester Donchatz, and four brothers Raymond, Samuel, Joseph and John Rohan. Friends may call on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home 4700 Market St., Boardman. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown.
