Boardman - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 10:00 am at St. Dominic Church, 77 E. Lucius Ave., Youngstown, with Father Gregory Maturi O.P. officiating preceded by a 9:30 am prayer service at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, for Kathleen A. "Kathy" Arbie, 80, of Boardman, who passed away peacefully early Friday morning, January 8, 2016. Kathy will always be remembered by her family and friends for all her wonderful qualities as a nurturing caregiver, her generosity and the love she shown to everyone. She was born May 25, 1935 in Youngstown, the daughter of Henry and Mary (Strojny) Hetner and was a lifelong area resident. Kathy was a 1953 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School where she participated in athletics and was a majorette. She was employed with Ohio Bell which is now At&t for over 37 years and retired in 1991. She started her career as an operator and later became one of the first women to become a technician that would work on the lines and transferring over digital services. Kathy was lifelong member of St. Dominic Church and its Rosary Altar Society. She also belonged to the Pioneers from At&t and Jednota Club. Kathy had many passions throughout her life, but first and foremost was always her family. She was a proud homemaker and loved spending time with her 2 great-great nieces. Kathy was also an excellent baker and her family will miss all her wonderful desserts especially her homemade pies. Her other enjoyments came from traveling and going to play Keno at her favorite Casino's which is Windsor and Seneca. Kathy and her husband Joe had many enjoyed trips to Cleveland to root on her favorite teams the Browns and Cavaliers along with their weekly movie night. She leaves behind to hold on to her precious memories her husband Joseph T. Arbie whom she married June 16, 1956, her daughter Andrea Arbie of Boardman, and was the beloved aunt of several nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and great-great nieces and nephews along with many friends. Besides her parents Kathy was preceded in death by two sisters Mary Louise Zuccone and Agnes Burns. Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday morning, January 13, 2016 from 8:30 am until 9:25 am at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman. In lieu of flowers material contributions may be made in Kathleen's name to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105.
