Obituary

Boardman - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Saturday, October 4, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Boardman, with Father Philip Rogers officiating for Kathryn E. "Kathy" Moran, 72, of Boardman, who peacefully passed away on Wednesday morning, October 1, 2014. Kathy will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends for her sense of humor, quick wit and wonderful personality. She was born November 16, 1941 in Youngstown, the daughter of Patrick and Margaret (Carey) Casey and was a lifelong area resident. Kathy was in the first graduating class of Cardinal Mooney High School in 1959 and then continued her education by earning a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Youngstown College. She influenced and touched many lives over the 40 years that she taught within the Youngstown Diocese Parochial School System. Kathy began her career at St. Christine School and then when she was blessed with her four sons, she took some time to be a homemaker. Upon her sons growing up she then taught at Holy Family School and retired from St. Charles School. Kathy was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church, the Sweet Adeline Choir, AARP, the Saxon Club and was a charter member of the St. Charles Garden Club. She had many enjoyments throughout her life and the ones that touched her the most was the family gatherings around the holiday's, spending time with her grandchildren, reading the newspaper, traveling across the Northern United States and taking Cruises to the Caribbean. Kathy was a music lover and especially enjoyed listening to Neil Diamond. Kathy leaves a legacy behind and those left to hold on to it are her beloved husband of over 50 years James Richard "Dick" Moran whom she married June 13, 1964, four sons Patrick (Andrea) Moran of Pennsylvania, James "Jimmy" (Lisa) Moran of Perrysburg, William "Billy" (Jillian) Moran and Timothy (Chere) Moran both of Boardman, 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, a sister Mary Pat (Richard) Jones of Stow, and a brother Edward (Mary Lou) Casey of Westerville. Besides her parents Kathy was preceded in death by a sister Sister Martina Casey OSU. Friends may call on Friday, October 3, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home 4700 Market St., Boardman and Saturday, October 4, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:50 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 7345 Westview Dr., Boardman. .
