Obituary

Youngstown – There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Borromeo Parish on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at 11:00 AM, with Father Phillip Rogers officiating and Father Gerald DeLucia presenting the Homily, preceded by a 10:00 AM prayer service at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, for Lisa J. Thomas, 54, who passed away suddenly of a cerebral hemorrhage on Wednesday afternoon at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Youngstown. Lisa will forever be remembered by her loving family and friends as full of life, fun loving, and living the Italian lifestyle with a warm welcome to all, both at her home and on the go. She was the "center of it all" for her family and friends, and she loved every minute spending time with them taking forever to say goodbye after each gathering. Lisa was born October 7, 1961, the third child of Joan and Anthony Julian, in Youngstown, and was a lifelong area resident. Lisa attended St. Brendan's grade school and graduated from Chaney High School in 1979. She also studied at Youngtown State University. Lisa was a full time homemaker, wonderful and beautiful wife, devoted mother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend, who created a very happy home, and celebrated holidays, birthdays, and other family events with passion. Her home was decorated for every holiday "for the kids." She created a spirit of fun, capturing the moment in everything from her special breakfasts for the kids to garage "sale-ing" excursions to her cherished quiet time at home enjoying "sparkling conversation" with whomever was there. She loved her time spent with her parents, brothers and sister and their children, providing extra special care whenever needed. Also she was an avid dog lover, and loved dearly her faithful "friends" Vito, Stella, and Tony the wiener dog. Lisa was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish, where she participated in Bible Study and other activities to celebrate the life of Jesus, she also was an Angel of Easter Seals, volunteered at Angels for Animals, and loved her time at the Cardinal's Nest at Cardinal Mooney High School while Sofia, Julian and Ana were in school there. She also loved her time as a Room Mom and Lunch Mom at St. Charles. Lisa loved her golfing time with friends on Tuesday's at Tippecanoe Country Club as a "Tippy Niner," serving as co-president, and organizing many charitable activities there. Lisa loved decorating her home for each holiday, with Halloween as her favorite, but not outdone by Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day and Independence Day. No room in the house was left undecorated. Friends and family loved her contagious enthusiasm for celebrations. She also enjoyed her backyard flower garden with discretely placed gnomes and other mystical figures. She loved to grill outside, and gather and enjoy time with family and friends celebrating food preparation, forever searching Pinterest for new fun things to cook and try out on whoever was at her home at the time. She especially enjoyed long conversations about anything and everything with the kids and their friends. Lisa leaves behind to hold onto her precious memories her loving husband of 25 years, Terry, whom she married at Sacred Heart Church, in Youngstown, her five children Vincent, Sofia, Julian, Analisa, and Isabella, parents Joan and Anthony Julian of Youngstown, sister Suzanne (Rick) Jenkins of Espyville, PA, three brothers Mark (Kaye) Julian of Massillon, Andrew (Elaine) Julian of Owings, MD, and Lance (Nicole) Julian of North Beach, MD, four brothers-in-law, Robert (Jeannie) Thomas, of Burnt Hills, NY, James (Liz) Thomas of San Diego, CA, Richard (Mary) Thomas, of Liberty, and Russell (Phyllis)Thomas, of Nashua, NH, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday, September 5, 2016, from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM, and on Tuesday morning from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM all at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market Street, in Boardman, Ohio.
