Vross, 93, of Sarasota, Florida, formerly of Youngstown, who passed away on Thursday afternoon, August 25, 2011. Lucile will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends. Lucile was born September 15, 1917 in Youngstown, of Polish immigrants, Charles and Lottie (Przyniczny) Grisdale, and lived most of her life in Youngstown until moving to Florida in 1995. She attended Sheridan elementary school and graduated from South High School in June of 1935. Planning to go into nurse's training in the fall her plans changed upon the death of her mother in September of 1935. At the age of 18 she became responsible for taking over her mother's duties which included taking care of the household chores as well as caring for her father and her brothers. Lucile was a lifelong member of St. Stanislaus Church and became very active in the Infant Jesus of Prague Guild along with being an early pierogi worker and the Senior Citizens. She was President of the guild for several terms and later was elected president of the diocesan guild which included all of the individual parish guilds. She also became very active in volunteering at St. Elizabeth Hospital and was a "grey lady" and then a Red Cross volunteer for 32 years. She also worked at the hospital renting and servicing patient televisions and made many patients happy with just a smile and a kind word. A charter member of the Canfield Democratic Women's Club, she assisted in many fund raising events and parties. Lucile and Tony along with her sister in law Mary moved to Sarasota in 1995. Mary died on February 2, 1997 and Tony died on June 1, 1997 while visiting in Youngstown. After that Lucile moved in with her son and his wife until October 24, 2008 when she went to an assisted living facility. She married on July 11, 1936 her one and only love, Tony Vross and gave birth to two sons, Ronald in 1937 and Anthony in 1942. They lived in the Grisdale family home and she continued caring for everyone. Lucile leaves behind to hold on to her precious memories a son Anthony G. "Jerry" (Beverly) Vross with whom she made her home in Florida, a brother Kenneth (Jan) Grisdale, a daughter-in-law Anne M. Simon Vross and her six grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and one great, great granddaughter that love her and will miss her so dearly. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son Ronald A. Vross, a grandson David J. Vross, a sister Wanda Bertin, and three brothers Edward, Leo, and Adolph Grisdale.
