Obituary

Boardman - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 7345 Westview Dr., Boardman, with Father Gerald DeLucia officiating for Margaret A. Silvestri, 97, of Boardman, who peacefully passed away on Tuesday evening with her loving family by her side. Margaret will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends for her smile and her generous and spunky personality. She never had a bad word to say against anyone and always made everyone feel welcome. She was born February 13, 1918 in Youngstown the daughter of Michael and Angelina (Adovasio) D'Orazio and was a lifelong area resident. Margaret was employed for many years in retail with Grayson Department Store in downtown Youngstown, but she was always proud of her most important job as being a wife, mother, grandmother as well as being a fantastic homemaker. She loved her family very much and always looked forward to the Sunday dinners they would share together. Margaret was a great cook and everyone always looked forward to her famous homemade pizza, spaghetti and meatballs along with all the other wonderful Italian dishes that she made. She graduated in the January Class of 1938 and was a member of St. Charles Church and its Over 55 Club. Margaret enjoyed exercising especially doing aerobics and meeting with the Friends of the Library Club. Her husband Frank P. Silvestri Sr. whom she married June 24, 1939 died March 21, 1987. She leaves behind to hold on to her precious memories three children Mary Ann Toth and Frank P. Jr. (Mary Jane) Silvestri both of Boardman and Thomas (Debbie) Silvestri of Atlanta, Georgia, five grandchildren James Toth Jr., Tracy (Jack) Martz, Julie Toth, Tiffany (Ross) Clark and Jennifer Toth and five great grandchildren Emily, Hannah, Grayson, Cooper and James. Besides her parents and husband Margaret was preceded in death by a son-in-law James J. Toth Sr., two brothers P. Arthur and Tony D'Orazio, and seven sisters Carmel Cerimele, Clara Cafaro, Helen Toriello, Violet Petrarca, Mary Ciufo and twins Ida and Elena D'Orazio. Friends may call on Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:55 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Boardman with mass to follow. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman.
