Poland - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Monday, April 29, 2013 at 10: 00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, SS. Cyril and Methodius Church, 252 East Wood St. Youngstown, with the Very Rev. Msgr. Peter Polando and Father Timothy O'Neill concelebrating for Martha M. Muransky, 89, of Poland, who passed away early Friday morning, April 26, 2013 with her beloved son by her bed side. Martha will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends for her dry sense humor, frankness, and sharp mind. Although she did not have a college education she read voraciously and displayed keen intelligence. She was born May 28, 1923 in Campbell, the daughter of Joseph and Martha (Koly) Kukura and was a lifelong area resident. Martha was a January 1940 graduate of Campbell High School and an active member of SS. Cyril & Methodius Church where she belonged to the Altar and Rosary Society and the Infant Jesus of Prague Guild. She was employed with G.E. Mazda Lamp Company and operated the family produce store on Federal Street, the State Market until 1957. She also worked at the Union Bank as an Executive Assistant and the Home Savings and Loan Company in the computer department. Martha was a Precinct Committee Woman working on election days, Past President of Jednota Branch 25 and a member of the First Catholic Slovak Union. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who put in endless time babysitting, never refusing a request, as well as an excellent cook and baker. Martha was a big sports fan sports fan especially of Michigan Football and enjoyed playing cards and reading. She traveled extensively with her husband, sister and brother-in-law for the Jednota Conventions along with following her son Ed's football career. Her husband Edward William Muransky whom she married June 29, 1946 died September 25, 1994. She leaves behind to hold on to her precious memories her daughter Elaine (Robert) Mulichak of Farmington, Missouri, a son Ed (Christine) Muransky of Poland, five grandchildren Brian (Penny) Mulichak, Melissa (Dan) Kellgren, Eddie Muransky, Deloran Muransky and Donielle Muransky, three great grandchildren Luke, Paige and Karter and two brothers Larry (Gilda) Kukura of Brookfield and Ray (Ida) Kukura of Pittsburgh. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a sister Ethel DeNicholas and two brothers a Infant Frank and Joseph Kukura. Friends may call on Sunday, April 28, 2013 from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm and again on Monday, April 29, 2013 from 9:00 am until 9:50 am all at SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, 252 East Wood Street, Youngstown. Burial will take place at Lake Park Cemetery, Youngstown. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman.
