Obituary

Boardman - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Charles Church, Boardman with Rev. Philip Rogers officiating for Mary E. Delpha, 90, of Boardman, who passed away early Saturday morning, March 19, 2011 at Hospice House after an extended illness. Mary will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends. She was born March 13, 1921 in Youngstown, Ohio the daughter of Frank and Jennie (Capuzello) Jacon and was a lifelong area resident. Mary was employed for over 17 years as a supply room worker at the A & P Warehouse and then worked for 10 years at Cornersburg Pharmacy as a clerk along with being a homemaker. She was a member of St. Charles Church and attended East High School. Mary was proud of her Italian heritage and loved spending time with her family, cooking and baking traditional Italian food. She enjoyed teaching her grandchildren how to bake Italian cookies, playing cards with the card group where she lived along with traveling to Atlantic City and Las Vegas. She leaves behind to hold on to her precious memories a daughter Carole Jean (Lynn) Beconder, two grandchildren Kelly (Brian) Sweeney and Darrin (Barb) Beconder all of Boardman, five great grandchildren Gianna and Nya Beconder and Amanda, Eric, and Ryan Sweeney, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers John, Joseph, and Samuel Jacon, and three sisters Jennie DeGeorge, Rose Ribero, and Josephine Tucci. Friends may call on Monday, March 21, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, and again on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:20 a.m. at St. Charles Church, Boardman.
