Obituary

Vienna – Mary Ann Ricciuti, 84, of Vienna, made her transition to her Heavenly home on Tuesday morning, August 6, 2024 with her loving family by her side.

Mary Ann will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends for her generosity, kindness and devotion to her Lord Jesus Christ. Her children and grandchildren were the joy of her life. She loved spending time together, having family dinners, celebrating holidays and going on vacations with them.

She was born March 7, 1940 in Youngstown, the daughter of Simon and Philomena Zabala and was a lifelong area resident. Mary Ann was proud to be raised in Smokey Hollow by her grandparents, Beatrice and Florindo Massaro.

Mary Ann was a 1958 graduate of The Rayen High School and furthered her education at Youngstown State University earning her Bachelor's Degree in 1962 and a Master's Degree in 1964; both in Business Education.

Mary Ann began her career in education at Ursuline High School where she taught business education from 1962 until 1965. She also taught at Youngstown State University and Kent State University. She was always so proud of all her students and they were very dear to her. Mary Ann then worked as a real estate agent for Liberty Realty before becoming the owner and broker for Centerwood Realty.

Mary Ann's faith was one of the most important parts of her life. She always felt so blessed by God to have such a wonderful husband, three daughters, her grandchildren, and great grandson. Mary Ann was a proud member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica and participated in Eucharistic Adoration which brought her such great joy for over 20 years. She was also a member of the Holy Family Institute.

Mary Ann married the love of her life, Joseph Ricciuti on December 26, 1964 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and they were married for 41 years until his passing in 2005.

She leaves behind to hold onto to her precious memories her beloved daughters Leanne (Colin) Miller of Kent, Doreen Gorospe of McDonald and Jennifer Ricciuti of New Middletown, her nine grandchildren Sarah Miller, Laura (Alex) Stirling, Luke Miller, Joseph Gorospe, Theresa (fiance John Bates) Gorospe, Maria Gorospe, Victoria Gorospe, Michael Mason and Mary Grace Mason and one great grandson, Carter Stirling, along with cousins and many dear friends.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday, August 11, 2024 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman where a rosary will be recited at 5:45 pm.

There will be a prayer service held on Monday, August 12, 2024 at 9:15 am at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, 343 Via Mount Carmel, Youngstown, with the Very Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cargilio as celebrant.

Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown.

Mary Ann's family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the entire staff at the Hospice House for all the care and compassion shown to Mary Ann and to them throughout this difficult time.
