Obituary

Boardman - There will be a Divine Liturgy held on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Infant Jesus of Prague Byzantine Church, 7754 South Ave., preceded by a 9:15 a.m. Panachyda Prayer Service at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, for Michael "Mike" Virostek Sr., 84, of Boardman, who passed away peacefully Saturday evening, February 7, 2015 with his loving children by his side. Mike will always be remembered and loved by his family and friends for his hard work ethic, his smile and his humble and fun loving personality. He was born June 25, 1930 in Czechoslovakia, the son of Nick and Anna (Klembara) Virostek and moved to the Campbell area in 1948. Mike then met the love of his life Grace and upon their marriage they moved to the Youngstown area in 1952. Mike was employed with Youngstown Sheet & Tube Company for over 32 years as a steelworker and blacksmith and retired in 1980. He was a member of Infant Jesus of Prague Byzantine Church. Michael had many talents and passions in life. He especially enjoyed fishing, dancing, listening to Polkas, gardening, canning and working in his yard. His greatest enjoyment was when he was socializing with his friends and family. His family enjoyed all his cooking and baking and they will miss his great Italian Cookies. His wife the former Grace Marie Buccieri whom he married in 1952 died October of 1978. Michael leaves behind to hold on to his precious memories a son Michael Virostek Jr. of Liberty and a daughter Philomena Virostek and her husband Glenn Ribenbarks both of Georgia along with a host of extended family and friends. Besides his parents and wife, Michael was preceded in death by a brother Steve Virostek along with other siblings over in Europe. Friends may call on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home 4700 Market St., Boardman where a Parastas Prayer Service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown.
