Girard - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Rose Church, 48 E. Main Street, Girard, with Rev. Msgr. John Zuraw officiating, preceded by a 10:00 a.m. prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, for Michele A. DePinto, 59, of Girard, who passed away early Sunday morning, April 21, 2013 at her residence with her beloved family by her side after a ten year battle with Early Onset Alzheimer's Disease. Michele will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends for her big smile, outgoing personality and strong will. She was born May 9, 1953 in Youngstown the daughter of Joseph and Margaret (DeMatteo) Kusmirek and was a lifelong area resident. Michele was a 1971 graduate of Liberty High School and then received her Bachelor's Degree in Education followed by her Master's Degree in Counseling both from Youngstown State University where she was a Jennings Scholar. Besides being a homemaker she was employed at Reed Middle School in Hubbard for over 29 years as a Guidance Counselor. Michele was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and St. Rose Church along with being a former member of St. Casimir's Church where she was past secretary of Parish Counsel. She used to volunteer at Todd's Children Hospital where she would help the kids understand their surgery and give tours of the hospital so the children wouldn't be scared. Michele enjoyed shopping, flowers and her garden, going to craft shows, and vacations, but she especially loved all the family gatherings. She leaves behind to hold on to her precious memories her beloved husband of over 23 years John Anthony DePinto, Jr., a son John Joseph DePinto of Girard, a sister Pat (Jack) Ralston of Vienna, a niece Kelly (Chris) Simmons of Hubbard, two nephews Jeffrey (Peggy) Ralston, Evansville, Indiana, and Nicholas (Angie) Ralston of Vienna, an aunt Theresa Mageros of Hubbard an Uncle Anthony DeMatteo of Dunedin, Florida, and numerous great nieces and nephews. Also, her dog Rover whom she rescued from the pound. Michele was preceded in death by her parents and numerous aunts and uncles. Friends may call on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown. The family asks that monetary contributions be made to The Measure-up campaign of the Girard Council #2935 of the Knights of Columbus, 122 South State Street, Girard, Ohio 44420 which helps people with developmental disabilities.
