Columbiana - Nancy P. Brown, 79, of Columbiana, formerly of Hopewell Township and Avon Lake, passed away peacefully May 27, 2015 with her loving family by her side. Nancy was born October 19, 1935 in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Frank and Ethel (Brant) Porter. Nancy moved to Hopewell Township with her husband and they later moved to Avon Lake where they spent 24 years before moving to Columbiana. She was a graduate of Aliquippa High School and worked as a legal secretary for several attorneys and LTV Steel and was also the secretary at Lakeshore United Methodist Church in Avon Lake. Nancy loved gardening, spending time on her deck, and playing cards with friends. She always made birthdays and holidays special for her family and friends where many cherished memories were made. She leaves behind to hold on to her precious memories her beloved husband of over 58 years Charles Thomas "Tom" Brown whom she married on June 16, 1956, a daughter Kathy (Jack) Pettibon of Beaver, Pennsylvania, a son Randy Brown of Columbiana, two granddaughters Kristen (Kevin) Hook of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Hallie (Brian) Galgano of New York City, a great grandson Emmet Hook, a brother Edgar (Jackie) Porter of Sebring, Florida, and a sister Lois Jean Dyer of Merrillville, Indiana. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Frank Porter Jr. Per Nancy's wishes there will be no calling hours or services held at this time. A celebration of life picnic will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman.
