Boardman - Patricia Ann "Pat" Brown (née Nadasky), beloved mother, grammy, sister, aunt, Godmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at Park Vista Nursing Home on July 14, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was 84.
Pat was born on April 18, 1942, in Youngstown to the late Sylvester "Silver" Nadasky and Mary Ann Ronik Nadasky and was a lifelong area resident. After graduating in 1960 from Ursuline High School, she earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Youngstown State University, where she was also a proud member of the Catholic Collegiate Association. Pat went on to share her love of learning by teaching science and art in several parochial schools, including St. Nicholas, St. Brendan, and Holy Name, and she continued to find deep fulfillment in tutoring students for many years.
From 1988 to 2002, Pat owned and operated Pat’s Talls in Boardman, a boutique specializing in clothing for tall women. Recognizing a unique need in the area, she took immense pride in her business and became fast friends with many of her cherished customers. A businesswoman through and through, she always kept a business card ready to go; whether she was out shopping or dining, she was never too shy to strike up a conversation and warmly invite a fellow tall woman to visit her store.
Those who knew Pat will remember her sharp mind and endless creativity. A formidable Jeopardy! player, she took delight in mastering her favorite art and science categories. That same passion extended to her kitchen. Pat was an extraordinary baker and chef who poured love into everything she made - from comforting grilled cheese and lasagna to her delicious cakes, cupcakes, chocolate chip cookie bars, and kolachi.
Her artistic talents shone through her beautiful watercolor paintings and her unique, elegant calligraphy, which she took great joy in sharing with others. She also possessed a legendary green thumb. Pat could nurture any plant or flower to life, and she loved introducing friends and family to the art of bottle gardening.
Pat spent over 50 years helping organize her high school reunions and was a longtime member of the local TOPS organization, where she adored the "TOPS ladies" and made many close friends. She was also an avid card player and loved organizing family poker games. She even found a tight-knit community in her neighborhood 500 Bid Card Club, sharing laughter, support, and deep friendship for over 30 years.
Pat’s memory will be cherished by her children, Ray Brown of Boardman and Laura (Matt) Miller of Medina; her beloved granddaughter, Ava; her best friend and brother, Jim (Marsha) Nadasky; her sister-in-law Alice Nadasky, and many dear nieces, nephews, and friends.
She shared 46 years of marriage with the love of her life, Donald J. Brown, before his passing in September 2015. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers Thomas Nadasky and John Mark Nadasky, and her sweet Labrador mix, Tootsie.
For the past six years, Park Vista has been Pat's home. Her family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Chelly Touart, Adrian Geiger, and the many nurses and aides who so lovingly cared for her.
Pat left behind a final message to share with everyone: “Please be kind to each other and grateful to those who helped you along the way. Thank you, Lord. I had a wonderful life!”
