Youngstown - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Angela Merici Parish, Sacred Heart Church, with Father Kevin Peters officiating, for Pauline Mary Vari, 92, of Youngstown, who passed away Wednesday morning, September 26, 2012. Pauline will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends for being an exceptional mother, grandmother and homemaker. She was born June 25, 1920 in Youngstown, the daughter of Raphael and Domenica (Gambera) Raggo and was a lifelong area resident. Pauline attended Scienceville High School and was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Its Ladies Guild and helped on Tuesday's with working Bingo at the church. She enjoyed gardening and playing cards with her Friday Night Card Club and loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Her family will miss her dearly along with her wonderful homemade ravioli's that she always made at Christmas time for them. Her husband Nicholas Vari whom she married June 17, 1939 died November 3, 1989. She leaves behind to hold on to her precious memories her children Mary Lou Walp of Poland and Frank (Helen) Vari of Ravenna, four grandsons Frank (Jennifer) Vari, Nicholas (Anna) Vari, Michael and David Walp, and ten great grandchildren Matthew, Nicholas, Gianna, Spenser, Isabella, Gisella, D.J., Nicole, Natalie and Nathan. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son-in-law Jack Walp, four brothers James, Joseph, Rocco, and Jack Raggo, and two sisters Mary DiDonato and Jeanette Fry. Friends may call on Saturday, September 29, 2012 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:20 a.m. at St. Angela Merci Parish, Sacred Heart Church, 400 Lincoln Park Dr., Youngstown. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman. In lieu of flowers material contributions may be made in Pauline's name to Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Rd., Poland, Ohio 44514. Pauline's family would like to extend their appreciation and gratitude to Park Vista Retirement Community 3rd floor nurses and staff and Hospice House for all their care and compassion shown to them during her illness. Pauline's children and grandchildren wish her a peaceful transition into the afterlife, and want to embrace her memories with no tears, for she lived a long full life, and now she gets to see all of her relatives (especially her husband Nicholas) who passed on many years before her. Memories will always persist in the minds of those who knew her and they are sure that all their loved ones that went ahead of her missed her for so long and is glad to see her again.
