Obituary

Canfield - There will be a Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial held on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Maron Church, 1555 S. Meridian, Rd., Youngstown, with Chorbishop Michael Kail officiating for Phillip M. Hayek, 40, of Canfield, who peacefully passed away at his Canfield residence, Saturday, January 7, 2012. He was born February 4, 1971, in Youngstown, the son of Joseph M. and Rosette Hayek. Phil was a 1989 graduate of Canfield High School and also attended Wright State University in Dayton, OH where he studied business and sales management. He went on to pursue a career as a salesman for various companies in Atlanta, GA and Youngstown, OH. Most recently he worked as Regional Sales Manager for Home Depot in Los Angles, California. He recently relocated back to the Canfield area to be closer to his parents and family and to resume his career. Phil was devoted to helping the needy every chance he could, he always volunteered at various Rescue Missions during the holidays lending a helping hand were needed and spreading his infectious laughter to cheer up those less fortunate. He was a member of St. Maron Church and the St. Tobias Society. Phil was a lot of fun to be around and had a way of making people laugh; he always focused on the positive side of any situation, laughter and great personality were his gifts to get across his message of life and love for those around him. He will be deeply missed by all of his uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends across the world. Besides his parents, he leaves behind, his brother David, who will deeply miss him. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Bessie and Alex Hayek and his paternal grandparents, Basma & Michael Hayek. Friends may call on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. where the Prayers of Incense will take place at 6:30 p.m. all at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, and friends may call on Thursday morning at St. Maron Church, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown.
