Youngstown - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Youngstown, with the Very Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio Jr. officiating, preceded by a 9:15 a.m. prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, for Philomena M. Evangelist, 92, of Youngstown, who was carried off by angels to her Heavenly home early Sunday morning, February 10, 2013 with her loving family by her side. She was born April 28, 1920 in Youngstown the daughter of John and Anna (Ginnetti) Berarducci and was a lifelong area resident. Philomena attended Woodrow Wilson High School and was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, its Senior Citizens Club and the Mothers of Crucifix Society. She enjoyed being a homemaker and while her husband Mike was serving our country in the military Philomena worked at Commercial Sheering Company and later Strouss's Department Store. Philomena will always be remembered and loved for all of her excellent Italian cooking especially her homemade wedding soup and spaghetti that all her family loved. She enjoyed hosting all the holiday's at her home with all the family and she especially loved playing BINGO. Her husband Michael Evangelist whom she married July 29, 1939 died February 5, 1974. She leaves behind to hold on to her precious memories her daughter Geraldine "Geri" (Robert) Sherwood of Boardman, a son-in-law John Didek (FiancAC. Joanne) of New Bedford, Pennsylvania, two granddaughters Lori (David) Rom and Stephanie (Tom) Howley, four great grandchildren Ashley, Amber and Alexxia Rom and Emma Olivia Howley and a brother Sylvio "Buck" Berarducci, of New York. Besides her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a daughter Olivia Didek, a sister Anna Keck, and three brothers Joseph and Nicholas Berarducci and Louis Pace. Friends may call on Friday, February 15, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman where the Mothers of Crucifix Society will hold a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown.
