Obituary

Boardman - There will be a Mass of Christina Burial held on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Church, Boardman, with Father Michael Marcelli officiating for Raymond Cmil Jr., 63, of Boardman, who died on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Hospital after a valiant effort to overcome a stroke he suffered in September. Ray was born August 12, 1948 in Youngstown, the son of Raymond and Mary (Adamko) Cmil and was a lifelong area resident. He was a 1966 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and a member of St. Charles Church and was on the Sponsor Couple Committee for the church. Ray was employed for over 37 years at the Schwebel Baking Company as a department manager where he retired from in 2008. He will always be remembered as a Dad that was involved in many facets of his children's life. He was a baseball coach for Boardman Little League for 13 years and was a football coach for Boardman Little Spartans. He also served as a trusted Cub Master of Pack 60 in Boardman. Ray and his wife were chairpersons of the Residential Cancer Campaign in Boardman. He enjoyed NASCAR, and was a big Cleveland Indians and Browns fan but he especially loved taking care of his twin grandchildren after school every day and sitting on the family swing with his two sons. Ray will be deeply missed by his wife of over 44 years the former Betty Billock whom he married January 20, 1968, two sons Raymond III (Rebecca) and Ryan Cmil, the pride of his life his two grandchildren Raymond IV and Olivia, a sister Mary Ann (Cmil) & Dave Nestor, a brother Cy (Rose) Cmil, a sister-in-law Nancy Meenachan and aunt Mary Ann Cmil. He will also be missed by his nieces Dena (Billy) Casey, Christy (Mike) Catheline, Katie Meenachan and nephews David (Amy) Nestor, Jason, Chris and Melissa Rhamy, many great nieces and nephews and the beloved family dog Everest who adored him. He was preceded in death by his parents. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. at St. Charles Church, 7345 West View Dr., Boardman. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman.
