Youngstown - There will be funeral service held on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, for Robert P. Anzelmo, 85, of Youngstown, who passed away early Sunday morning, March 13, 2011. Robert will always be remembered and by his family and friends for his sense of humor, his work ethic, and his love for family and people. He was born March 14, 1925 in Youngstown the son of Anthony and Sadie (Tredent) Anzelmo and was a lifelong area resident. Robert was employed in the family business with his father, brother and nephew at Keystone Construction for over 40 years as a concrete finisher and carpenter and then later worked for 10 years at Airloc in Struthers as an installer. He was a member of the ITAM Post #3 on Meridian Rd. and the East Side Kiwanis Club. Robert was a graduate of South High School, and enjoyed collecting model cars, hunting and fishing. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II, where he earned the rank of Technician Fifth Grade with the 1345th Engineer Combat Battalion. He received the following decorations and citations: the American Theater Ribbon, the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal, and the Victory Medal of World War II. Robert leaves behind to hold on to his memories a daughter Linda (William) Rhodes and family of Winter Garden, Florida, his caregiver and nephew Theodore F. Anzelmo and Pam Tatarka of Austintown, a brother-in-law Urbano Garcia of Austintown, a lifelong friend Howard Griener and several nieces, nephews, and friends. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Donald A. Anzelmo, and two sisters Rose Garcia and Annette Glaros. Friends may call on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. at the Rossi & Santucci funeral Home, Boardman where the great men of the Trumbull County American Legion will provide full military honors.
