Boardman - There will be a funeral service held on Friday, December 2, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, 7640 Glenwood Ave., Boardman, with Father John Wiegle officiating for Ronald V. Thomas, 68, of Boardman, who peacefully passed away Monday evening, November 28, 2011 at Hospice House with his loving family by his side. Ron will be sadly missed by everyone who loved him. He was a very kind, helpful, and a loving person who touched the lives of everyone he met. He was born December 5, 1942 in Youngstown, the son of Harold and Gertrude (Hill) Thomas. After graduating from Boardman in 1960, Ron went on and graduated from Youngstown State University and then the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and became a funeral director and embalmer for over 44 years. Ron owned and operated Demming & Thomas Funeral Home and Ambulance Service in Marion, Ohio. After selling his funeral home he then was employed with Corrigans Funeral Homes in Cleveland, Shriver Allison Courtley Funeral Home in Youngstown and retired from Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, in Warren in 2009. He was Past President of Warren Kiwanis along with being active with the American Cancer Society. He had a passion and love for the lake and boating which helped him become very active with the United States Power Squadrons where he served as Past District Commander. Ron was an avid power boater and loved Lake Erie, people and to travel. Ron was a member of St. James Episcopal Church and the Ashtabula Yacht Club. Ron leaves behind to hold on to his precious memories his loving wife of over 33 years the former Rosanne Mesko whom he married November 11, 1978, two children James "Curt" (Kerry) Thomas and Jennifer (Bill) Anspach both of Medina, and three grandchildren Austin, Haley, and Mackenzie. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends may call on Thursday, December 1, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman and on Friday December 2, 2011 from 10:30 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. at St. James Episcopal Church , 7640 Glenwood Ave., Boardman Family and friends may visit www.rossisantuccifh.com to view this obituary, sign the guest book and send condolences to Ron's family.
