Obituary

Youngstown - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Youngstown, with the Very Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio officiating, preceded by a 9:15 a.m. prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, for Rose L. DelSignore, 90, of Youngstown, who passed away peacefully early Tuesday May 10, 2011 after a short illness. Rose will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends. She was born February 28, 1921 in Youngstown the daughter of Vincenzo and Angela Rose (Potena) Carnevale and was a lifelong area resident. Rose was a homemaker and during the war worked at General Fire Proofing as "Rosie the Riveter". She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Youngstown, the Mothers of Crucifix Society at the church and the Red Society. Rose enjoyed reading, doing embroidery work, playing BINGO and was an avid sports fan especially watching football, basketball and wrestling. She loved to cook and bake especially her wonderful bread and pizza for her family. Her husband Patsy DelSignore whom she married May 29, 1948 died August 10, 1996. She leaves behind to hold on to her precious memories a daughter Angela (William) DiFrangia and a son Joseph (Cindy) DelSignore both of Canfield, three grandchildren Nicole DiFrangia of California, and Bill (FiancAC. Carmen Murphy) DiFrangia and Anthony DelSignore both of Canfield, a sister Mary Delia of Youngstown and a sister-in-law Mary Carnevale of Austintown. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers John and Patsy Carnevale and a sister Josephine Serino. Friends may call on Friday, May 13, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown. Rose's family would like to thank the entire staff at the Briarfield Manor for their excellent care and compassion shown to Rose during her stay with them.
