There will be a Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial held on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Maron Church, 1555 S. Meridian, Rd., Youngstown, with Chorbishop Michael Kail officiating for Rose Joseph Ellis, 91, of La Jolla, CA, formerly of Youngstown, OH, who passed away peacefully on February 7, 2013, at home surrounded by her loving family. Rose will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends for her gentle, kind nature and how she gave so generously to all she encountered. She will be greatly missed. Rose was born in Homestead, PA, the daughter of Izan and Mary Joseph. She was the only surviving child of five. Rose lost her mother at the age of 5 and she was raised by her father. Rose was a life-long housewife and mother, much beloved by family, friends and all who made her acquaintance. She was a life-long member of St Maron Church and Our Lady of Lebanon Shrine. She loved to cook and was once featured in the Vindicator for her Lebanese cooking. She was known for her Lebanese Easter Bread. She is survived by her son Anthony Ellis, her daughter Alicemarie Ellis O'Neill and her grandson, Justin Zola, all of La Jolla, CA. Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Louis, her son Michael, and her daughter Debie Ellis Zola. Friends may call on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home 4700 Market St., Boardman, and again on Thursday, February 14, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:50 a.m. at St. Maron Church, 1555 S. Meridian Rd., Youngstown. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman.
