Obituary

Salem - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Our Savior Parish, St. Nicholas Church, Struthers, preceded by a 9:45 a.m. prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman for Rose F. Maniccia, 94, of Salem, formerly of Struthers, who peacefully passed away Friday morning, November 18, 2016 with her loving family by her side.

Rose will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends for her outgoing and generous personality along with her kindness and quick wit.

She was born December 26, 1921 in the Brier Hill section of Youngstown, the daughter of Joseph and Lucy (Altiere) Naples and was a lifelong area resident.

Rose was a proud homemaker always putting her family first. Everyone will miss her famous cooking and baking especially the flawune's, her famous canned peppers and her wedding soup that was known as "Aunt Rose's Wedding Soup".

She was also a prayer warrior for everyone. It didn't matter if she knew you or not all you had to do was ask Rose to pray for you and she did.

Rose was a longtime member of Christ Our Savior Parish, St. Nicholas Church, Struthers, was past president and bar manager of the Sons of Italy in Struthers, was past president of the Italian Mothers Club, Struthers and was a long time member of the Bonco Club in Struthers where she would enjoy playing Bingo and cards with all her friends.

Rose had many passions throughout her life. She enjoyed spending time with her family and listening to music.

Rose leaves behind to hold onto her precious memories her beloved daughter Dorothy and son-in-law Charles Simon with whom she made her home, along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Earl Cartwright, her second husband, Anthony Maniccia, four brothers Sandy, Jimmy, Billy and Joey Naples, and three sisters Madeline Rich, Antoinette Tocco, and Dorothy Vitale.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday, November 21, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home 4700 Market St., Boardman.

Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown.
