Warren - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Youngstown, with the Very Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio officiating, preceded by a 12:10 p.m. prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, for Sally D. Mirone, 81, of Warren, who passed away Friday morning, December 30, 2011 with her loving family by her side after a long illness. Sally will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends. She was born September 13, 1930 in Youngstown the daughter of Raymond and Wilma (Goist) Whitacre, and was a lifelong area resident. Sally was a homemaker along with being a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. She enjoyed playing cards and BINGO, but she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and beloved dog Suzie. Her husband Peter Mirone whom she married August 28, 1948 died March 30, 2005. She leaves behind to hold on to her precious memories her two children Beverly (Michael) Paris of Austintown, and Joseph (Rosalie) Mirone of Riverside, California, five grandchildren Joseph (Jennifer) Paris, Lindsay (Michael) Evanko, Ashley and Bryan Mirone, and Anthony Paris, four great grandchildren Michael, Kaitlyn, Gianna, and Nico, and two brothers Charles and Eugene Whitacre. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a sister Shirley Kelley. Friends may call on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 from 10:30 a.m. until 12:10 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman. Burial will take place at Belmont Park Cemetery, Liberty. Material contributions may be made in Sally's name to Ohio's Choice Hospice, 1520 E. Market St., Warren, Ohio 44483. Sally's family would like to express their Thanks to Cheryl, Ann Marie, and Kim along with the entire staff of Ohio's Choice Hospice for their devotion and compassionate care shown to Sally during her time of illness.
