Boardman - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Monday, October 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 2729 Center Rd., Poland with the Rev. Msgr. William Connell officiating, for Shirley E. Clayton, 78, of Boardman, who passed away peacefully at her residence Tuesday, October 1, 2013. She was born May 15, 1935 in Youngstown the daughter of Joseph and Catherine (McCarthy) Bees and was as a lifelong area resident. Her husband Gene F. Clayton whom she married July 17, 1954 died November 6, 2007. She leaves behind to hold on to her memories her three daughters Rebecca (Raymond) Carney of Canfield, Colleen (Rick) Walker and Heidi (Brad) Brocker both of Poland, four sons Gene (Kim) Clayton, Timothy (Viive) Clayton, Rick (Sue) Clayton and Daniel (Louise) Clayton all of Poland, 26 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren a brother Timothy (Bunny) Bees of California and a sister Bernadine Neapolitan of New Middletown. She will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her grandson Gene Clayton, three brothers Joseph, Thomas and Frank Bees, and five sisters Bridget McGarvey, Julia Ann Matthews, Catherine Bullen, Elizabeth Bees and Mary Margaret Bees. Friends may call on Monday morning, October 7, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. all at Holy Family Church, 2729 Center Rd., Poland. Burial will take place at Poland Riverside Cemetery, Poland. Shirley's family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Robert Spratt who has shown his thoughtfulness and compassion to Shirley over the last 30 years. Her family would also like to extend thanks to Cornerstone Home Health Nursing Aides and MVI Hospice for all the care given to Shirley during her time of illness. In lieu of flowers material contributions may be made in Shirley's name to Holy Family Church, 2729 Center Rd., Poland Ohio 44514, or to MVI Hospice 4891 Belmont Ave. Youngstown, Ohio 44505.
