Poland - There will be a Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial held on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Maron Church, 1555 S. Meridian, Rd., Youngstown, with Chorbishop Michael Kail officiating, for Stella Abbas, 94, of Poland, who peacefully went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, September 27, 2014. Stella was born in Youngstown, the daughter of Thomas and Zanie (John) Abbas, and was a lifelong area resident. She worked at General Electric Company for many years until her retirement, and was a graduate of East High School. She was a member of St. Maron Church and her deep rooted faith in the Blessed Mother. Stella will always be loved and remembered by all who knew her because she was overall a wonderful woman. She was one who undoubtedly went straight to Heaven after her passing as being one of God's precious children. Stella shall be remembered not only for all the good deeds she did and her good life she led, but more so for her virtuous and faithful heart and soul. She may be gone from this world and this earthly life, but in our hearts, minds and souls, she is still with us as the mark she left on this planet and the memories, both of woe and wonder, times of good and bad, that she engraved into our minds. May we pray that she watches over us all with God and Jesus from the highest of the Heaven's and may we one day hopefully meet her again when God chooses it is our time to go. Stella leaves behind a brother John (Marie) Abbas of Youngstown, and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers Abbey and Joseph, and six sisters Minnie, Molly, Mabel, Adelaide, Josephine and Abla. Friends may call on Saturday, October 4, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:50 a.m. at St. Maron Church, 1555 S. Meridian Rd., Youngstown. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
