Obituary

Canfield - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Christine Church, Youngstown, with Father John Keehner officiating preceded by a 9:15 a.m. prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman for Thelma M. Amendol, 79, of Canfield, who passed away peacefully on Monday evening, July 14, 2014 with her loving family by her side. Thelma will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends for her smile and wonderful personality. She was born May 26, 1935 in Youngstown the daughter of Frank and Anna (Becker) Stein and was a lifelong area resident. Thelma was a 1953 graduate of South High School and worked for a several years at Union Bank. She was the matriarch of the family and a proud homemaker. She centered her life around her family and always put all her heart in raising her children and caring for her husband. They will deeply miss all her outstanding cooking and baking of Italian dished and pastries. Thelma was a devoted member of St. Christine Church and volunteered as an usher at Powers Auditorium. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed reading, and gardening. Her husband Arthur Amendol whom she married on May 1, 1954 died October 1, 2004. She leaves behind to hold on to her memories her children Karen (Bill) Johnson of Canfield, Tina Ammendolia and Tom Amendol both of Columbus and Joe Amendol of Austintown, seven grandchildren Joe (Rebecca) Barney, Jennifer Barney, Caris Whetstone, AJ, Ally, Ashley and Makinna Amendol and three great grandchildren Lexsia, Jack and Claire. Besides her parents and husband, Thelma was preceded in death by a son Stephen Amendol and a brother Raymond Stein. Friends may call on Friday, July 18, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown. Material contributions may be made in Thelma's name to Hospice of The Valley, 5190 Market St., Boardman, Ohio 44512.
