Struthers - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, 343 Via Mt. Carmel, Youngstown, preceded by a 9:10 a.m. prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, for Theresa Marie Pohmurski, 95, of Struthers, who passed away on Monday morning, April 6, 2015 with her loving family by her side. Theresa will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends for her wonderful personality and smile. She was born October 28, 1919 in Youngstown, the daughter of Nicola and Porsia (Riccardi) DePinto. Theresa lived most of her life in the Youngstown area except from 1978 until 1982 where she lived in St. Petersburg, Florida. Theresa was a 1937 graduate of East High School and worked during World War II as a welder (Rosie the Riveter). She then was employed as a secretary for with St. Elizabeth Hospital, and for over 20 years worked as a sales clerk at several of the Strouss Department Stores besides being a homemaker. She and was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica where she belonged to the Mothers of Crucifix Society and was a volunteer for the American Red Cross at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Theresa enjoyed going to Mountaineer Casino playing the slot machines, playing cards with the 500 Bid Card Club, and bowling in leagues. Her husband Michael Pohmurski whom she married October 26, 1940 died November 25, 1985. She leaves behind to hold on to her precious memories her daughter Anita Pohmurski of Struthers, along with many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins and friends. Besides her parents and husband, Theresa was preceded in death by six brothers Joseph, John, Thomas, Leonard, Michael and Vito DePinto. Friends may call on Friday, April 10, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home 4700 Market St., Boardman. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown.
