Obituary

Canfield - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church with Father Michael Swierz officiating, preceded by a 9:15 a.m. prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, for Thomas M. (Murph) Santore, 69, of Canfield, who passed away Friday, June 22, 2012 at his residence. Murph will always be remembered and loved by his family and friends. He was born September 8, 1942 in Youngstown, the son of Frank and Margaret (Bengala) Santore and was a lifelong area resident. Murph was employed as a salesman with Carnation and then retired from R. L. Lipton Distributing Company. Upon retirement he then worked at Sweeney Chevrolet which he enjoyed along with making many friendships. He was a 1960 graduate of East High School where he excelled and lettered in baseball all 4 years. Murph then continued his baseball career playing for Youngstown State University where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Education. Murph's was inducted into the East High Hall of Fame, Youngstown State University Hall of Fame, and Curbstone Stone Coaches Hall of Fame for his outstanding baseball achievements. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 377, "The Lunch Group" which he has made bonds with men that could never be broken, the Golden Eagles, the Fourth Quarter Gang, the East High School Reunion Committee, Smokey Hollow Memorial Day Committee and the Sons of Italy where he was president. Murph enjoyed playing bocce, but he especially loved spending time his children and grandchildren along with attending all of their sporting events. He leaves behind to hold on to his memories his three children Todd (Marisa) Santore of Florida, Frank (Lindsey) Santore of Madison, Ohio, and Leah Santore of Canfield, three grandchildren Chase, Aubrey, and Frankie, two sisters Barbara (Edward) Villani of Boardman and Jeanne (Rick) Zelina of Avon, and two nephews Paul (Joya) Villani and Michael Villani. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends may call on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday June 27, 2012 from 8:30 a.m. until 9:10 a.m. all at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman.
