Obituary

Youngstown There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, 343 Via Mt. Carmel, Youngstown, with the Very Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio officiating, preceded by a 9:10 a.m. prayer service held at the Rossi &Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, for Valerie I. Sanders, 90, of Youngstown, who peacefully passed away Thursday morning, February 19, 2015. Valerie will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends for her smile, her hard work ethic and all the love and compassion she showed to her family. She was born February 27, 1924 in Youngstown, the daughter of Andrew and Cecilia (Razga) Krajci and was a lifelong area resident. Valerie was a 1942 graduate of Chaney High School and a lifelong member of Holy Name of Jesus Church. Besides being a wonderful homemaker Valerie, was employed with International Paper, Idora Park and the Youngstown City School District. While working at Idora Park she would always get her grandchildren tickets to attend and those memories will always be cherished in their hearts. Valerie's great joys were spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to sing all songs, especially Slovak songs, and her beautiful voice will be remembered by many friends and acquaintances. Valerie leaves behind to hold on to her memory two children Patricia (Dan) Suchora of Boardman and Dennis (Debbie) Sanders of Cincinnati, her seven grandchildren Kevin (Amanda) Suchora, Sherri (Nick) Wongchaowart, Matthew Suchora, William Sanders, Rebecca Knipp, Missy (Allen) Reinhard and Michael Sanders along with thirteen great grandchildren which were the apple of her eye. Besides her parents Valerie was preceded in death by two brothers Stephen and Victor Krajci and a sister Mary Stoffer. Friends may call on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the Rossi &Santucci Funeral Home 4700 Market St., Boardman. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown. Valerie's family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the Assumption Village and their entire staff for all their hard work, care and compassion that was shown to Valerie and her family during her illness.
