"Chip" Restivo

South Carolina - There will be a funeral service held on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at 4:00 pm at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, with Pastor Al Yanno officiating for Vincent John "Chip" Restivo, 89, of Charleston, South Carolina, formerly of Youngstown, who passed away peacefully, at Hospice House, Poland, on Wednesday, October 12, 2016, surround by his loving family. Vincent "Chip" was born in Youngstown on June 13, 1927, the son of Giacomo and Margaret Restivo. After graduating from East High School, Vincent was drafted into the Army to serve in the Korean War. After returning from the war, he attended Youngstown College, where he earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He launched his career as an engineer at United Engineering in Youngstown, (later merged to become Wean/United Engineering). Before his retirement in 1991, he worked as an engineer for General Motors in Troy, Michigan. His work at GM provided Vince travel opportunities to Italy, Japan, China, and Germany. In 1991, Vince married Constance (Connie) Allen, and later the couple moved to Charleston, South Carolina, where they made their home for the past 22 years. An avid golfer, Vince was extremely proud of the day he made a "hole-in-one" at Mill Creek Golf Course. His happiest moments were those spent with family and friends. His beloved Connie preceded him in death on September 16, 2016, and subsequently, he returned "home" to Youngstown. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Joan Arnott (Atty Jack Lorenzetti), Girard, and Shelley (Atty Michael) Hudak , Canfield; daughter-in-law, Connie Restivo, Columbus, and grandchildren, Atty Heather (Rich) Hamilton, Gibsonia, PA, Noelle (Dr. Tim) Domer), Katie (Dr. Tae) Jung, and Taylor Hudak, all of Canfield, and Vincent J. Restivo, Leigh Restivo, and Lauren Restivo, of Columbus. Vince also leaves six great grandchildren Timothy and Carson Domer and Julianna, Michael, Harrison and Mina Jung along with several nieces and nephews. Vincent was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Phyllis (Ralph) Ambrosia, Viola (Anthony) Modarelli, and brother Anthony (Peggy) Restivo; his former wife, Joanne Mauerman Restivo, daughter Kristen L. Restivo, and son, Vincent D. Restivo. Family and friends may pay their respects Sunday, October 16, 2016 from 2:00 pm until 3:50 pm at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman. Burial will take place at Lake Park Cemetery, Youngstown. Family and friends may visit www.rossisantuccifh.com to view this obituary, sign the guest book and send condolences to the Restivo family. The family requests that in lieu of flowers material contribution may be made in Vincent name to Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Rd., Poland, Ohio 44514. The Restivo family extends their deep gratitude to the staff at The Hospice House for the support, care, and dignity provided to Vincent during his final journey to everlasting, restful peace.
