Youngstown – There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Monday, February 29, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, 343 Via Mt. Carmel, Youngstown, with the Very Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio Jr. as celebrant, preceded by a 9:10 a.m. prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, for Vincent James "Jimmy" Santangelo, 86, of Youngstown, who passed away early Friday morning, February 26, 2016 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Youngstown April 1, 1929 to the parents of Claude and Mary (Polifrone) Santangelo. Vince married his wife the former Mildred Fusillo on January 26, 1956 and they spent their lives residing in Youngstown. Vince was a graduate of East High School and an Army veteran of the Korean War. He held a variety of jobs over the years including Genessee Distributing and an insurance agent for Bankers Life-and Casualty before establishing his own company, Safe-Ti-Co Environmental in 1985. Vince was a social and active man who loved sports, frequent trips to Atlantic City with his brother-in-law Lou Fusillo, playing cards, portraying Santa Claus at the annual Fusillo family Christmas party and bartending at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel but most of all spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Mildred (Fusillo), three children; Pamela and Rudy Byce, Vincent Santangelo and (Debbie Grille) and Mary Jo and Michael Margala; his grandchildren Cristina, Brian, Nicholas Byce, Maria and Julianna Margala, two sisters Mary Santangelo and Josephine Hooper, a brother Joseph (Frieda) Santangelo as well as many members of the Fusillo family, cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his infant twin sons, his parents, Claude and Mary (Polifrone), his two brothers Perry and Dominic Santangelo. On behalf of Vince and his company, Safe-Ti-Co, he would like to thank his nephew Dennis Hooper for his assistance and all of his business associates. The family would like to thank the numerous nurses, physicians/residents and other staff of North Side Medical Center, that took part in his care, as well as the staff at Life Line Partners and Shephard of the Valley Howland. A special thanks to the staff on 3 Northwest for the compassion that they showed to our entire family. Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday, February 28, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home 4700 Market St., Boardman.
