Youngstown - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception - Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, 400 Lincoln Park Dr., Youngstown, with Father Kevin Peters officiating, preceded by a 9:00 a.m. prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, for William "Bill" James Curtis, 53, of Youngstown, who passed on to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011 from a sudden heart attack. Bill will always be remembered and loved by his family and friends for being a man of a quiet spirit, kind person and having deep faith. He was born July 25, 1957 in Youngstown the son of William Roy and Irene (Slaina) Curtis. William graduated from Immaculate Conception School and then from Ursuline High School in 1975. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. He was employed in food service all his life, starting at St. Elizabeth Hospital for several years, and then worked as a prep cook at several Atlanta restaurants until 1989. Upon returning to the area in 1990 he had worked as a landscaper and was co owner of Albella Pizza until his employment with Red Lobster where he has worked for the last 15 years. Bill enjoyed working in the outdoors, cookouts and socializing with his family, friends, and co-workers. He loved the company of all of his pet dogs through the years especially his current one "Shady". He leaves behind to hold on to his memories his father Roy, and siblings Gary (Carrie) of Youngstown, Bob (Jenna) of Campbell, Edie May (John) of Youngstown and Maribeth Veronica (Raymond) of Austintown. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews who he thought of like his "own kids" Adrienne Metroff, Missy Sexton, Nikki Curtis, Christine Curtis, Bobby Curtis, Aleece Curtis, Gary Curtis, and Michael Curtis, along with his "other brother" Alan Hamner. He was preceded in death by his mother Irene (Slaina) Curtis who passed away in 2006. Friends may call on Friday, April 29, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
