Youngstown - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Friday, June 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Angela Merici Parish, Sacred Heart Church, with Father Kevin Peters officiating, preceded by a 9:10 a.m. prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, for William P. Quinn, 90, of Youngstown, who passed away early Tuesday morning, June 26, 2012. William will always be remembered and loved by his family and friends. He was born September 29, 1922 in Youngstown, the son of William and Margaret (Flanigan) Quinn and was a lifelong area resident. William was a member of the Knights of Columbus Poland #4471, the Sergeant McGinnis V.F.W. Post 8841 on the eastside of Youngstown, and Sacred Heart Church where he sang in the choir for over 25 years along with being an altar server. Bill worked for over 38 years at Truscon Steel and was a graduate of East High School. He was an avid Notre Dame fan. He was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II where he earned the rank of Electrician's Mate 3rd. Class and served in the South Pacific. He served on numerous vessels and was awarded the following decorations and citations the Point System Badge, the Victory Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the American Area Medal, and the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with one Bronze Star. He leaves behind to hold on to his precious memories his beloved wife Rosella, son Kenneth (Roberta) Quinn, grandson David which was his pride and joy, along with nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Kathleen, a sister Rose Caswell, and three brothers James, Raymond and Eddie Quinn. Friends may call on Thursday, June 28, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
