Youngstown – Ann Marie Franko, 90, of Youngstown passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday evening, June 17, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Ann was born on March 11, 1935 in Youngstown, a daughter of Peter and Magda (Grdenic) Mahin and was a lifelong area resident.
Ann was a 1953 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and went on to marry the love of her life, Richard Franko, on June 16, 1956 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Youngstown. The two celebrated 65 years of marriage together until Richard’s passing in 2021.
For Ann, family was everything. She was a devoted homemaker, mother and grandmother who cherished being around those she loved. Ann was proud of her heritage and loved ALL things Croatian. She prayed the rosary daily and loved getting to know other people. Ann was kind, outgoing and had a phenomenal memory. To Ann, no one was a stranger, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Ann will always be remembered by her children, Judy (Brad) Bloomberg of Youngstown, Rick (Nancy) Franko of Poland, Marianne (Jeff) Semivan of Highland Heights and Katie (Len) Brush of Manassas, VA; grandchildren, Daniel (Jesika) Bloomberg, Andrew Bloomberg, Grace and Peter Caiazza and Sarah Brush and numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Besides her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Franko; beloved daughter, Janet Caiazza; sister, Meg Malenic and brothers, John, Peter and Tom Mahin.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass for Ann on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at 11am at St. Matthias Church, Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, 915 Cornell St., Youngstown 44502-2765
A private entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
