Betsy Makara Obituary
Boardman, Ohio – Betsy A. Makara, 66, of Boardman, Ohio passed away Friday, February 23, 2024, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
She was born March 15, 1957, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Nancy L. (Keir) Barber and Edward Makara.
She had a passion for helping others and worked in home health care for many years, retiring in July of 2022. She was very independent, feisty, and kind. She loved spending time with her family and adored her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Christine (Martin) Pizzo of Boardman, Ohio, grandchildren, Dominic and Giabella Pizzo, and brother Roger (Pam) Makara.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her son-in-law Jerry S. Pizzo.
Per her wishes there will be no services.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman.
