Boardman – Christopher Atwood, 17, of Boardman, lost his battle at Akron Children’s Hospital in Boardman, on November 1, 2025 after a courageous fight of 20 months with his loving mother by his side.
He was born in Youngstown on July 1, 2008, and was a lifelong area resident. Christopher graduated from Boardman High School and through online at Valley Virtual in 2025.
He was proud to be an employee at “The Original Handles” where he met a lot of wonderful people and made impact on so many lives.
Christopher had many great achievements throughout his life, but obtaining his driving permit was a one of his best and biggest accomplishments. He also had a passion for Mill Creek Park and that was his special place to enjoy the wonders of life.
Chrisotpher leaves behind to hold onto his memories, his mother whom he adored Kristina Atwood, brothers Justin Atwood and Vincent Atwood III, his two aunts Pamela Fike and family and Jennifer Prozy and family along with many friends.
He was preceded in death by his material grandparents Herbert (Tracy) Fike.
Per Christopher’s request there will be no calling hours or services at this time and he will have a private burial for his close family and friends at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Boardman.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi and Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman.
Christopher’s family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the entire staff at Akron’s Children Hospital along with all the family and friends that supported them throughout this difficult journey.
Christpher said to leave you with these words “All of the past meets up in the present and a part of me will always be present with you.”
