John H. Platt

Youngstown – John H. Platt, 60, of Youngstown, passed away on Sunday evening December 15, 2024.

He was born November 12, 1964 in Youngstown, the son of Wayne Roger and Joanne (Democko) Platt and was a lifelong area resident.

John was a 1983 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and worked for numerous companies throughout the valley: BJ Allen Fireworks and most recently with Youngstown Fence Company.  

John had many passions throughout his life. He enjoyed spending time at Geneva-on-the-Lake, fishing and was a computer whiz. He also enjoyed collecting movies and was a movie enthusiast.

John leaves behind to hold onto his memories his siblings Debra Platt of Ambridge, James P. Platt with whom he made his home, Sherry (Suzanne) French of Cleveland and Roberta Schemetti of Brookfield his nieces and nephews Noel, Isabella, Leon, Latoya, James P. Jr., Caitlin Vaught, Michael Martin and Joseph Platt along with his beloved dogs Chica and Blanka.  

John was preceded in death by his father Wayne Roger Platt and mother Joanne Schemetti.

Family and friends may pay their respects and celebrate John’s life on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 4:00 pm until 5:50 pm at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St. Boardman, where a time of sharing will follow at 6:00 pm.
