John David Snyder Sr., 68, of Youngstown passed away Thursday evening, June 6th, 2024 after a long battle with continuous medical issues.
John was born July 9th, 1955 in Butler, Pennsylvania, the son of James and Dorothy (Thompson) Snyder and moved to Youngstown as a child.
He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, hunting, taking his motorcycle for a ride or just admiring nature. He also enjoyed the simple things in life like spending time with his family. John was a proud father to children who could not ask for a better dad. He may not have been the richest man in the world but if love were money, his kids would have made him a millionaire. They will forever cherish the time they got to spend with him.
John will be remembered for his amazing sense of humor and ability to be there for anyone who needed him. He was a wonderful father, brother, uncle and friend to many.
John leaves behind to hold onto his memories his three children, John David Jr. (Leslie) Snyder and Michael Snyder both of Austintown and Kayla (Austin Miller) Snyder of Youngstown, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a brother Paul (Susan) Snyder, a sister Elaine Kornack, the love of his life Angie Ogle and her children Gina Ogle and Michael Ogle along with her four grandchildren. John also leaves behind his best friends, Sheila Socak and Geoff Cox, his beloved dog Gemma along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by his two sisters Shirley Arnett and Sheila McLaughlin, his brother Jimbo Snyder and his brother-in-law Chuck Kornack who was also like a brother to him.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday, June 21, 2024 from 4:30 pm until 5:50 pm at Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman followed by a funeral service at 6:00 pm with Pastor Russ Adams as celebrant. To end the night, the family will be holding a dinner at the Fraternal Order of Eagles hall located at 1655 S. Raccoon Rd, Youngstown, OH 44515.
John’s family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the entire staff of Hospice House and also St. Elizabeth’s ICU Unit for all the care and compassion shown to them and John throughout this difficult process.
