Youngstown – Karen Marie Schmidt, 62, of Youngstown passed away on Friday evening, September 27, 2024 at Hospice House surrounded by her family after a four- year courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.

She was a 1981 graduate of Chaney high school and a proud native to Youngstown’s west side. She had a love for Mill Creek Park and enjoyed many walks through the park with family and friends. Karen was also a member of St. Brendan Catholic Church.
Karen was determined and very hardworking. In her life she held many positions, from General Manager to supervising work. She worked for Comprehensive Logistics, Kraft Maid and Leer. Through it all, her goal was to work hard to provide for her family, whom she loved.
Outside of work, Karen enjoyed gardening and decorating her home. She loved coming home after a long day’s work and being greeted by her dog, Max. Most of all, Karen loved and cherished her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved hearing about their latest achievements and cherished the time she spent with them. Karen will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
