Campbell – Louis A. Marinelli, 85 of Campbell, passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, January 10, 2025.
Louis was known to many as “Louie” and will always be remembered for his impeccable style, his smile and always having a story or joke to tell.
Louis was born February 25, 1939, in Youngstown, the son of Joseph and Jennie Commardo-Miller Marinelli and was a lifelong area resident.
Louie graduated from East High School and had a long career as a bartender. He was employed for years at the Moonraker Restaurant along with many other restaurants and bars throughout the Mahoning valley. He also was a pawn broker for many years at the Gold Exchange -Pawn World.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, and enjoyed boating, playing cards and cooking especially all Italian dishes. He also enjoyed socializing with his family and friends and was talented at building villages and cities that went under the Christmas tree.
Louie leaves behind to hold onto his precious memories his children Joseph “Joey” Marinelli and Andrea (Gary) Rohan, his two grandsons Christopher (Kacie) Rohan and Jordan Rohan and his beloved companion of over 46 years Grace Slone and her children Frank Rossi and Tina Rossi, along with nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends.
Besides his parents, Louis was preceded in death by a brother Joseph R. “Wootsie” Marinelli Jr. and his sister Anita M. Jones.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman.
There will be a prayer service held on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 9:20 am at Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, Boardman, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, 343 Via Mount Carmel, Youngstown with the Very Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio as celebrant.
