Youngstown – Lucinda M. “Lou” Fusco, 89, of Youngstown, passed away peacefully, Thursday afternoon, March 6, 2025 with her family by her side.
Lou was born May 21, 1935, in Youngstown, the daughter of John and Margaret (McFate) Sovik. She was proud to have grown up on the Eastside and was a 1953 graduate of East High School as a “Golden Bear”.
Lou was a proud homemaker and always made her family their top priority. She enjoyed cooking and baking for them along with spending time with family. She especially looked forward to attending her granddaughter’s sporting events.
She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Senior Citizens and played bocce at the MVR and the Pacentrano Club.
She will always be remembered for her smile and sociable personality. She was full of life and loved to go to the Casino and play games of chance, watching the Hallmark channel, and was an avid reader.
She leaves behind to hold onto her memories her husband of over 64 years John “Jack” J. Fusco Jr. whom she married September 10, 1960, her two children Linda (Ron) Rowe of Poland and John T. Fusco of Austintown, her daughter-in-law Judith Ann Fusco of Austintown, two grandchildren Madison Rowe and Sydney (fiancé Patrick Kearney) Rowe, a great granddaughter Clara Mae and her brother Jack (Bonnie) Sovik of Austintown along with nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Lou was preceded in death by her parents and a son Robert Fusco.
Family and friends may pay their respects to Lou on Thursday, March 13, 2025 from 11:00 am until 12:50 pm at Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman where a funeral prayer service will take place at 1:00 pm.
Lucinda’s family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to Akesco Hospice and Touching Hearts Home Health for all the care and compassion shown to Lou throughout this difficult time.
