Mary F. (Fleischer) Bland

Youngstown – Mary Frances Bland, 87, of Youngstown, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, January 8, 2026, with her loving husband by her side.

Mary was born on June 14, 1938, in Youngstown, the daughter of Henry and Sadie (Cole) Fleischer, and was a lifelong resident of the area. She grew up on the South Side of Youngstown and was a proud 1957 graduate of South High School.

Mary was a devoted homemaker who always made her family her top priority. While her children attended Immaculate Conception School, she worked alongside her sister, Edna, for more than five years as a lunch lady at Immaculate Conception School.

She was a faithful member of St. Blaise Parish – Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and a supporter of the Sisters of Notre Dame. Mary was also a proud and longtime supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Mary had many passions throughout her life. She enjoyed reading, traveling with her husband in their RV, boating on the Ohio River and at Pymatuning, spending time with her family, and tending to her backyard garden. She also had a fond love for collecting green glassware and road runner memorabilia.

Mary is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years, Richard Bland, whom she married on December 14, 1979; her loving children, James Fetty, Henry Fetty, William (Andrea) Fetty, and Christina (Michael) Addison; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Fetty; her sister, Edna Waller; and her brothers, Henry E., James, Robert, John “Jack” and George Fleischer.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Blaise Parish – Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4490 Norquest Blvd., Austintown, with Rev. Msgr. Peter Polando officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street, Boardman.

In lieu of flowers, material contributions may be made in Mary’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105
