Poland – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael A. Mike Jr., 70, of Poland, passed away unexpectedly Saturday afternoon, January 18, 2025.
Michael was born on September 19, 1954, in Youngstown to Michael A. Mike Sr. and Charlotte (Saba) Mike, and was a lifelong area resident.
Michael was a 1972 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School. He worked alongside his father at Acme Steak Company, which his father began in 1947. They worked together for over 45 years and in the late1980s, Michael A. Mike Jr. took over head of operations. He has worked alongside his son Michael A. Mike III to carry on the legacy that began so long ago.
Michael was dedicated to his work and to his family. He had a magnetic personality and a sharp sense of humor that captivated everyone around. His children admired him, and his grandchildren adored him. He will be greatly missed and remembered for his kindness, generosity, and humbleness.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of over 45 years, Charlotte (Khoury) Mike, their three children Heather (Josh) Sulfaro, Michael A. (Despina) Mike III, and George Mike, and his five grandchildren Viggo, Lucius, Michael IV, Nichola and George along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends may pay their respects to Michael on Friday evening, January 24, 2025 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Saturday morning, January 25, 2025 from 9:00 am until 9:45 am in the Antioch Hall at St. Maron Maronite Church, 1555 S. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.
There will be a Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 10:00 am at ST. Maron Maronite Church, with Father Tony Massad as officiant. The funeral will also be livestreamed on St. Maron’s Facebook page for those who are unable to attend the services in person.
Burial will take place at Poland Riverside Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that monetary donations be made in Michael’s name to St. Maron Maronite Church, 1555 S. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, Ohio 44511.
