Boardman – Nicholas Patrick “Nick” Bernard Jr. 70, of Boardman, passed away on Thursday evening, July 11, 2024.
Nick will always be remembered for his outgoing personality, kindness and generosity.
He was born November 27, 1953 in Youngstown, the son of Nicholas Patrick Sr. and Bernice (Klimaski) Bernard and was a lifelong area resident.
Nick was a 1971 graduate of The Rayen High School and furthered his education by receiving his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Westminster College. Nick then went on to achieve his master’s degree in School Psychology from the University of Akron in 1982. He was proud to have worked for over 35 years in education where he helped numerous children throughout his career as a school psychologist and retired August 2, 2017. His career included working with the Columbiana School System, Trumbull County School System, Athens County School System and for the last 25 years of his career in Grove City, Pennsylvania.
Nick was a longtime member of St. Charles Borromeo Church and throughout his career was active in numerous organizations and societies.
Nick had many passions throughout this life. He loved listening to music and playing his guitar and enjoyed watching movies and was an avid sports fan.
Nick leaves behind to hold his memories the love of his life, his wife of over 33 years the former Jamie Rossano whom he married February 2, 1991 at St. Charles Church along with extended family members and friends.
Nicholas was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 from 10:00 am until 10:50 am in the chapel of St. Charles Borromeo Church, 7345 Westview Dr., Boardman, where a Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 am.
Entombment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, Austintown.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman.
